Kayak/Canoe Adventures on Black Bayou Lake
Guided Lake Tours — Depending on Volunteers' Availability and Weather Forecast
* $10 Discount for FoBB members. Fee includes optional Friends of Black Bayou membership and enables future discounts.
The duration of each guided tour is about 2 hours, including setting out and stowing equipment, and processing paperwork.
All participants will be required to wear an approved personal flotation device and sign a usage/waiver agreement. No children under 30lbs in weight may participate. The watercraft must be suitably load-balanced to avoid upsets, and not over-loaded as this can cause top-heaviness, and/or flooding from being too low in the water. Two very large adults will not likely be properly supported by one kayak, and a canoe, or even dividing the participants between boats might make a better choice. If the guides deem it unsafe to proceed, their decision must be respected. Important trip updates appear on our Friends of Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge (FoBB) Facebook page. Advanced reservations may be made by calling Ani at 318-406-9995 . Tours depend upon volunteers' availability. Local weather conditions must be clement, not too windy, and above 55F and below a heat index of 95.
